Been A Long Time
Been a while since our last blog. Man, have we been busy. I think we've seen more cities in the last few months than most bands see in a year. I have to tell you, the crowds have been great. Thanks so much to all of you for coming out. We truly appreciate it.
So, what's new? Well, The Rose Hotel continues to do well and again, thanks to all of you who have bought it. We had a blast making it and to know you liked it makes us happier than mule's eating green apples. We've added a ton of new tour dates, so check those out. We also have some new merchandise out, so if you're feeling like a new T, check em out.
I need your help with something. We are thinking about selling tickets from my site. These would be tickets that are the best in the venue. It would be first come, first serve and when they are all gone, they are all gone. I'd love to know if this is something you would be interested in. Comment on this blog and let me know if you think it is a good idea. I am trying to give my fans a way to get the best seats in the house.
And don't forget to come see us on the road. You know, it does go on forever.

YES! But you'll sell out anyway... - 2010-06-02
Great idea; though tickets for your shows will sell no matter what! I'm trying to get tickets for the 9/30 show in CA - that day is my husband's 50th birthday and he would kill to see you live again. He lived in TX for 30 years and misses his roots. We're in PHX now and I'm flying him to CA just to see you! Can't wait! Your music makes us both happy.

The ticket idea is great---especially when you're within 100 miles of L.A. You were on public radio here about...sh*t...15 years ago and you did a tune live in the studio and told a story in the middle about Lyle and this guy you worked for who was really stingy...hilarious story. I've been a fan since. You're one-of-kind. Steven Neal Wagner www.stevennealwagner.com

Any Decision on this, Mr. Keen? - 2010-05-19
I wonder what the latest is on this Tickets to Fans First (or at least selling online thru this website) I would also propose that for a GA show, those who purchase online might get early entrance to the venue. And to save on the ticketmaster convenience fees would surely be an added bonus! Either way, I imagine I'll still be buying tickets and seeing shows!

But, since I have a compulsion to buy tickets to REK shows, I'm probably not the one to ask! :)

I think it is a great idea to offer seat here. I don't think they last would last very long. Can you do it without those outrageous Ticketmaster fees?

Selling Tickets From Site - 2010-04-14
Robert, any way we fans can get the best tickets sounds good to me. I know you guys have been busy touring, we really appreciate all of the shows you do because we love to see you live! Will see you at the Nutty Brown Cafe.

I kinda like just doin' nothing. Purchasing tickets on line would allow me more time to do nothing, so I think it's a good idea. Especially if the tickets are in Central Arkansas.

REK- I am a big believer in offering priority tickets to your true fans! That would be a unique favor for those of us that really just don't want to be left out of the party! I've been a fan a long time, a Texan borl girl living in CO now. Can't wait to close down Vail with you! Cheers and Love!

I think selling tickets via your website is a great idea. It would be a nice way to thank your fans. Could also drive more traffic to your site. Come to Seattle and I'd buy a ticket!

REK site ticket sales - 2010-04-14
I think this is a great idea! The ticket websites hold back so many it's hard to get good seats, even if you call really early.Always thinking of us, Robert. Thanks!!See you at Billy Bob's.

Good idea - 2010-04-14
I think selling premier tickets from your website is a good idea. It wouldn’t apply to the general admission venue you play in my city. However, with the right timing and city … “the best seats in the house” argument may convince the spousal unit to take a mini-vacation. Ever think if selling Rose Hotel lowball glasses – like on the back of your CD? : - )

I think selling tickets on the site is a great idea. I always check the site for tour dates, locations, and news! That would make it a one stop shop! Keep the good music coming!! Thanks

Every concert I have attended - all in Texas - have been general admission. If there's a show where I can purchase a great reserved seat, I'd be buying that ticket in a heartbeat! Thank goodness the road is coming back to Texas soon!

"Yes!" to tickets on site! - 2010-04-14
I definitely think that you should sell tickets on the site to fans first. Not to mention names but a fellow Texas troubadour does a similar thing, and the results for me have been fantastic. Usually I am able to get tics in the first three rows. This is good because the fans really do deserve this small token of appreciation. Of course you may have to sing a little louder, because we love to sing us some REK right along with you. lol. Anyway get your awesome band back to the northeast asap! It has been entirely too long and nothing is scheduled. Don't make me move to Texas now!
